Skolsky is generally credited with persuading producer Jerry Wald to give Marilyn what proved to be important in this grity movie.For the first time, Marilyn had a chance to act, rising above the secretary and decorative Blonde roles she had landed until then. She's Peggy, one fish cannery worker. She has partners more and more famous, Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas and Robert Ryan. The nude calendar give the picture enormous free publicity.
